The USS Wisconsin Radio Club is a 501(c)3 charitable organization structured to promote and educate the public about maritime history and the history of the USS Wisconsin, BB-64 moored at Nauticus maritime museum in Norfolk, VA. The club maintains an amateur radio “shack” on the ship’s O3 level containing restored WWII vintage radio equipment and three modern amateur radio stations. One of the radios is a Flex base than can be remotely accessed by club members. There is also a multiband WSPR transmitter that is active continously (N4WIS).
The club hosts special events for the Wisconsin QSO Party, Museum Ships on the air, the ship’s final decommissioning, and for the Remembrance of Pearl Harbor. Membership is open to amateurs, history buffs, and radio enthusiasts.
