Honestly, it just blows my mind that despite how developed society is, we still have so many topics that aren’t talked about, and they end up seriously hurting people sometimes. My friend has serious alcohol problems, and I didn’t even know about it. We haven’t seen each other much lately. He also has big financial issues, but he didn’t talk about it because society sees it as something shameful and undeserving. In the end, he couldn’t share it with anyone, drowned his problems in alcohol, and look where that led him. I don’t know, I really want to help him. He’s a close and very important person to me. Are there any options?

If he wants to get treatment, anything is possible. But if someone doesn’t care about their own condition, their future life, or their surroundings, I don’t even know what to do in that case. It’s worth trying, of course, there are rehab centers. You could try looking for something nearby, write or call them, and find out all the details.

Well, desire is super important, but do you really think that some alcoholic or drug addict is suddenly going to wake up one morning, take responsibility for themselves and their life, and go get treatment? I think it always starts, even if small, with some pressure from caring people. There are really good rehabs now, like woodland hills rehab. I really like their specialists' approaches, some individual treatment methods or treatment for dual diagnoses. They have a full range of specialists, and inpatient care, which is also important during recovery.
